As the founder of the whistleblower website WikiLeaks remains underground in fear that the U.S. will detain him, the site is preparing to release a leaked video of a U.S. airstrike in Afghanistan that is said to be more shocking than the Iraqi video that sent its controversial leader into hiding.
Julian Assange, who has been garnering more attention since it was announced that Pentagon investigators are looking for him, told his supporters in an email this week that he has a classified video of a U.S. attack on Afghan civilians.
In an interview airing today on “Brian Ross Investigates,” a weekly investigative news magazine show airing on ABC News Now and Hulu.com, a member of the Icelandic Parliament who has worked closely with Assange said the Afghan video is expected to be released shortly.

For example, page 33/71 of the PDF document above says that all new buildings have to be “nearly zero-energy buildings” by the end of 2020. It has to be true by the end of 2018 for all new buildings occupied by public authorities.

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010It’s not about immigration. It’s about amnesty.
Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010Senator Kyl spoke at a Tea Party Rally on June 18 and revealed that Obama will not secure the border without a “comprehensive immigration reform bill. The founding fathers gave us one in 1795 With a few modifications it would suffice.
But Obama says immigration reform when he means amnesty.
Remember that the 1200 of the 6000 National Guard troops were not there to secure the border. “It’s not about immigration,” his staff told the Mexican government. The Tuscon Citizen reported that the Sonoran government is complaining about the influx of Mexicans from the U.S.
Why is Obama concerned about amnesty instead of doing the Constitutional duty that he said he would in his oath? Maybe this video will help.

Barack Obama considers sacking US general McChrystal
Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010“McChrystal has been directed to attend the monthly meeting [on Wednesday] on Afghanistan and Pakistan in person,” a senior American official said so the general could “explain to the Pentagon and the commander in chief his quotes in the piece about his colleagues”.Barack Obama is considering whether to sack General Stanley McChrystal as military commander in Afghanistan after summoning him to the White House tomorrow to explain his derisive criticism of the President’s staff in a magazine article.
The decision over whether to fire Gen McChrystal, the architect of a new counter-insurgency strategy designed to turn around the nine-year Afghan war, for insubordination is one of the most momentous of Mr Obama’s presidency.
It comes at a time when his Afghan surge strategy is faltering. Gen McChrystal has delayed the summer offensive on Kandahar and said that Marja, which was “cleared” in a major operation at the start of the year, was a “bleeding ulcer”.
In a profile in the magazine Rolling Stone by freelance journalist Michael Hastings, McChrystal told the magazine that he felt “betrayed” by Karl Eikenberry, the US ambassador to Kabul and a former three-star general, in a White House debate over war strategy last year.

Coconino, Kaibab, and Prescott National Forests Will Implement Fire Restrictions June 23
Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010WILLIAMS, Ariz. – Officials with the Coconino, Kaibab, and Prescott National Forests will implement fire restrictions on Wednesday, June 23 across the three forests. Due to high fire danger, these restrictions are deemed necessary to protect public health and safety and prevent human-caused wildfires.
The restrictions will prohibit fires, campfires, charcoal, coal or wood stoves outside of developed campgrounds and limit smoking to within enclosed vehicles or buildings or in developed campgrounds. Pressurized liquid or gas stoves, lanterns, and heaters meeting safety specifications will continue to be allowed.
In addition, campfires are not allowed at the designated dispersed camp sites within the Prescott Basin on the Prescott National Forest. Metal posts identify designated dispersed sites with a number.
Please remember the following campfire safety:
1. Make a fire only if you have a shovel and sufficient water to put it out.
2. Never leave your campfire unattended.
3. Avoid making a campfire during the windy part of the day. Winds usually diminish at night when a campfire is welcome.
4. Keep your campfire as small as practical.
5. To make sure your campfire is out, drown with water and stir with dirt, making sure all burned materials are extinguished. Feel with your hand to make sure it’s out cold.
The fire restrictions will remain in place until the Forests receive significant precipitation. Violation of the prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000, imprisonment for not more than six months, or both. Fireworks are always prohibited on National Forest land.

Texas Lawmakers Outraged That Afghans Went AWOL From Air Force Base
Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010By Jana Winter

Texas lawmakers say they are deeply concerned that the federal government lost track of 17 Afghan military personnel who went AWOL from Lackland Air Force Base, where they were studying English.
U.S. Sens. John Cornyn and Kay Bailey Hutchison, and House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Lamar Smith, all Republicans, are demanding answers from the U.S. Air Force and the Department of Homeland Security on what Cornyn described as a “breach of national security.” And the lawmakers are asking why the alert was issued only last week when the men started disappearing 18 months ago.
Smith, who serves on the House Homeland Security Committee, is demanding that Air Force and Homeland Security officials brief Congress on the Afghans’ disappearance.
“It is extremely troubling that these Afghan military members with special access to U.S. military facilities were allowed to disappear,” he told FoxNews.com in a statement Monday. “This is an unacceptable threat to American communities and members of the military, who live and work on the base, that these AWOL military members can still attempt to access.
