TSA may ease airport patdowns, but feds urge travelers not to boycott full-body scans to ease lines

WASHINGTON – Fearing a revolt by flyers, the feds are looking into easing the airport patdowns that have sparked outrage – and even a skit on “Saturday Night Live.”

They also implored passengers not to join the National Opt-Out Day protest gathering steam on the Internet. The campaign urges travelers to say no to full-body scans – likely bringing holiday lines to a grinding halt.

This will only “tie up people who want to go home and see their loved ones,” Transportation Security Administration chief John Pistole said.
