Thar’s a new Facebook in town!

I found on Facebook, oddly enough, a link to a new competitor known as Freedomtorch. As of this writing, they are hoping to get 87 more signups to reach 10,000 by Christmas.

Freedomtorch is a conservative alternative to Facebook that claims not to censor material. Facebook has been known to censor material. In August, for example, the Libertarian party complained about the censorship of its ad to legalize marijuana.

The following is the privacy statement for Freedomtorch:

While it is a conservative site, there may be some material that some consider risque. One member, Jonathan Cousar, however, invites liberals to join in his podcast Why Are Dems Allergic to the Word “God”!?. He hopes for the change in their attitude when they see that their views cannot stand up against the views of the right.

You can check out their home page, the blogs, the videos, audios and podcasts without a membership. The forums, groups, events, photos and chats require a membership. You can see a sampling of the views by visiting their home page.

Hey, it’s a great site! I really love it. Lots of like-minded conservatives. And since you mentioned Jonathan Cousar’s podcasts they’re great. He really sees what’s wrong in this country and tries to motivate us to get to work fixing it. He’s the one who runs the site by the way.

oh and by the way, I should mention we have a few tea party groups who use the site for their own private online meeting space. They can create public or private groups. Most have created private groups for their members where they can discuss things and post announcements to each other and things like that.

Last I checked, there are 51 to go before I sign in. That is probably what everyone is waiting for. You’ll definitely be over 10 grand before Christmas, though. Should grow to twenty quickly when everyone has to start filing a 1099 every time they buy anything over $600 with cash. Brought to you by the good folks at Obamacare.
