America not good enough for Superman?

Friday, April 29th, 2011

When Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster created a character that would stand for “Truth, Justice and the American way,” they did not realize that even their Superman could not prevent them from being embroiled in one part of the American way. Contract lawsuits.

That aside, the creators of the character gave us a man from the planet Krypton who derived power from our yellow sun.

Over the years, Superman helped us defeat the Nazis and Japanese during World War II. In between he managed to battle robots, fight crime and save Lois Lane and kittens from peril.

I remember reading a Superman comic in the seventies, I believe, where man’s super intellect developed such great technology that Superman was no longer useful. Thus, we saw a grey-haired Superman, in the end, flying off into space looking for a planet that needed him. Of course, there was a disclaiming text panel which indicated that it was great that this was only fiction and that Superman would be here to protect us for as long as needed.

A few years ago, he died. And came back to life, apparently.

Obama has even characterized himself as Superman even though he has shown no propensity toward truth, justice or anything doing with the American way.

Never before, though, has he ever slapped America in the face.

Obama photos racist; Bush photos just damn funny.

Thursday, April 28th, 2011

Orange County Republican Committee member Marylin Davenport has apologized for an email sent to GOP members with a picture of Obama as a member of a monkey family. She says that she will not resign, but it is only a matter of time.

News One‘s own Dr. Boyce Watkins weighed in on why republicans would put Obama’s face on a Chimp. Of course it boils down to racism.

“One has to find it quite interesting that there are Republicans who genuinely believe that the tremendous hatred and scapegoating of President Barack Obama is not affected in the least by racial animosity. What might surprise you, however, is that I actually believe some of them when they claim that racism is not the driving force behind their attacks. The reason is that much American racism is subconscious, driven by hundreds of years of social conditioning in our society to continuously reinforce the notion that African Americans are less ethical, less reliable, and less intelligent than everyone else. In other words, we’re seen to be just a step above monkeys,” his explanation reads.

At least he did single out “republicans” even though the first blacks in Congress were Republicans, Democrats kept slavery alive until the Civil War. He did not equate the “republicans” with the “TEA Party” which are not the same.

I wonder if he is referencing On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life. That is the book that is taught to your kids as “science” in school that educates them in just that mindset. It is the driving force behind the Columbine massacre.

It also interests me that Dr. Boyce is talking about double-speak. That is a term derived from the novel 1984 by George Orwell. That is the ability to hold two contrary opinions in one’s mind and believe both. Such as health care is good when you know it is another nail in the coffin of our Republic.

I will not deny that racism exists. Certainly not in the quantity or quality that is depicted by the mass media. I do not even dispute that Dr. Boyce has a point in some cases. I wonder, though, if it can be explained why opposition to health care, say, is racist? Who can forget the immortal words of Jimmy Carter who explained that it is racist to show pictures of Obama as Hitler, but on George Bush, it just looks hillarious. Why is it all right for Obama to play the race card for health care?

Obama Relents, Releases Birth Certificate — Let’s Move On

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

(From the Email: Obama’s approval ratings are so low that people in Kenya are now accusing him of being born in the United States.)

After years of ignoring demands that he release his full birth certificate, and steadfast goading from Donald Trump and others, President Barack Obama has finally presented the official document, saying he has “better stuff to do” than deal with the controversy.

The White House posted the birth certificate on the Internet before Obama spoke to reporters on Wednesday morning.

“We provided additional information today about the site of my birth,” Obama said.
“This issue has been going on now for two, two and a half years now, and I have to say that over the past two and a half years I have watched with amusement, I have been puzzled by the degree to which this thing kept on going.

“Every official in Hawaii, Democrat and Republican, every news outlet that has investigated this, has confirmed that yes, in fact I was born in Hawaii in 1961 at Kapiolani Hospital.

“We posted the certificate that is given by the state of Hawaii on the Internet for everybody to see. People have provided affidavits that they have seen this birth certificate, and yet this thing just keeps on going.”

Why Obama Doesn’t Think Much of Easter

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

It’s because he’s a Muslim, people. Haven’t figured that out yet?

The media and the blogosphere are abuzz with dumbfounded reactions to the White House’s snub of Christians during the weekend. No presidential proclamation celebrating Christianity’s highest holy day of Easter was issued, compounded by the White House chief spokesman’s scoffing response to reporters’ questions about the omission.

As Fox News noted on Monday, “By comparison, the White House has released statements recognizing the observance of major Muslim holidays and released statements in 2010 on Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, Hajj, and Eid-ul-Adha.” On top of neglecting Easter, the president “also failed to release a statement marking Good Friday.” The White House did, however, “release an eight-paragraph statement heralding Earth Day,” which fell on Good Friday.

What’s more, on March 20, President Barack Obama even videotaped an “important message” that was more than four minutes long commemorating Nowruz, the Persian New Year that Iranians celebrate. In it, the president said, “You — the young people of Iran — carry within you both the ancient greatness of Persian civilization, and the power to forge a country that is responsive to your aspirations.”

Arizona vetoes as of today.

Tuesday, April 26th, 2011

These are the bills, thus far, vetoed by Governor Jan Brewer. Governor Brewer currently has over 160 bills on her desk that she has until May 2nd to act upon.

HB 2177 presidential candidates; qualifications; affidavit
Requires a presidential candidate that is for running for office to prove their eligibility to run and hold office by providing documentation that proves citizenship, age and if the candidate meets residency requirements.

Would have required the filing of an affidavit with appropriate proof attached. Brewer objected to “Christian” and “Jewish” materials being part of the proof requirement.

H.B. 2338 special districts; secondary levy limits
Would have put a cap on secondary property tax levels by cities and counties. Now they can charge pretty much what they want. A tax limit on any property tax is not only appropriate, but needed.

Elton Gallegly calls Obama’s immigration meeting ‘summit on amnesty’

Tuesday, April 19th, 2011

By Michael Collins

“I don’t think anyone was invited who was interested in stopping illegal immigration,” Gallegly said.

WASHINGTON — Rep. Elton Gallegly said Tuesday that a White House meeting between President Barack Obama and people who want to overhaul the nation’s immigration system was really just “a summit on amnesty.”

“The list of people he had there were obviously people who were not concerned about stopping illegal immigration,” the Simi Valley Republican said.

Obama and several administration officials met Tuesday with about 70 people who want to change immigration laws in what the White House described as an effort to foster “a constructive national conversation” on immigration reform.

The guest list, a diverse group of elected officials and religious, business, labor and civil rights leader, included former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Los Angeles City Council President Eric Garcetti, the Rev. Al Sharpton and former Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez.

Several told reporters afterward that Obama assured them he would continue pushing for a new immigration policy. Garcetti said Obama also indicated he would press for a vote on a bill to help certain undocumented immigrants attain legal status if they attend college or serve in the military.

Jan Brewer’s Great veto adventure.

Tuesday, April 19th, 2011

While Secretary of State Jan Brewer was serving in the position of governer of the Great State of Arizona—wrecked and vacated by Janet Napolitano—she by rote signed legislation after legislation. Particularly the infamous SB 1070 which got her re-elected.

She objects to HB 2177 requiring a presidential candidate to provide documentation that they are, indeed, natural born citizens.

Her objection? “…I never imagined being presented with a bill that could require candidates for President (sic) of the greatest and most powerful nation on earth to submit their ‘early baptismal or circumcision certificates’ among other records to the Arizona Secretary of State. This is a bridge too far.” She objects to documents that the “founding fathers” used quite frequently and were used throughout our history until we became no longer a Christian Nation. Of course, Obama is not Jewish so I doubt he has a circumcision certificate and that is as far as I would check.

It is okay to ask a car load of Mexicans if they are citizens, but asking a person if they are qualified for the office of president is a bridge too far.

FEC Probes Obama’s 2008 Campaign Finances

Monday, April 18th, 2011

“The FEC is conducting a routine review — as is true with the McCain campaign, the Romney campaign and many others — to determine if they have any questions with the information reported,” Katie Hogan, deputy press secretary for Obama’s re-election campaign, told Roll Call. “Given that there was an historic number of contributors and contributions — nearly 4 million and over 9 million, respectively — this takes time.”

Barack Obama raised a record-shattering $750 million on his way to winning the 2008 presidential election. But that stunning flood of cash has triggered an investigation by the Federal Election Commission, which is taking a detailed look at the campaign’s records and transactions.

According to Roll Call, the audit of Obama’s financial records began Barack Obama, Federal Election Commission, Investigation, 2008 Presidential Electiontwo years ago. It was not required by law, since the Obama campaign did not accept federal matching funds and funded itself entirely with private donations. But allegations of improper contributions, coupled with the FEC’s suspicions of certain transactions, led to the probe.

Obama recently officially launched his 2012 campaign effort, and a representative there admitted to Roll Call that a review was under way.

Puberty blocker for children considering sex change

Saturday, April 16th, 2011

[This is in England, but one wonders if this will be covered by Obamacare?]

Children as young as 12 are to be allowed drugs to block puberty while they decide whether to have a sex change, it has been revealed.

The monthly injection suspends the onset of adulthood so that young people confused about their gender can be sure of any decision before they take on too many masculine or feminine features.

Supporters say that the “window” prevents a great deal of mental and physical anguish caused by the maturing of sex organs, facial hair growth and changes in the voice.

But critics argue it only prolongs the agony and can prevent people “growing out” of any feelings of confusion.

PHOENIX — An Iraqi immigrant has been sentenced to 34 1/2 years in an Arizona prison for running over his daughter because she became too Westernized.

Faleh Hassan Almaleki was convicted of second-degree murder in the October 2009 death of his 20-year-old daughter, Noor Almaleki.

A jury also found the 50-year-old guilty of aggravated assault for running over the mother of Noor’s boyfriend and two counts of leaving the scene of an accident.
