During this time that we celebrate Honor America Days, we pause to honor our Fathers, as well. We wish all Fathers the best on this day.
In honor of this day, we give you this story of Fatherhood…
(Warning: May offend some)
One day a teacher was giving a test to her fourth grade class. As the pupils worked, the teacher gave each an extra credit oral question.
When she reached one pupil, she asked, “Johnny. Who signed the Declaration of Independence?”
The student looked at her and replied, “I don’t know. And what’s more, I don’t give a damn.”
Shocked, the teacher called the boy’s father after class and demanded that he come in the next day and observe the class. The father complied and she repeated the exercise giving the students a written examination with an additional oral question.
When she reached Johnny, she asked, “Johnny. Who signed the Declaration of Independence?”
The student repeated his former answer.
The teacher took the father aside and said, “Now you have observed what just happened. I believe it is necessary for you to take him out in the hall and straighten him out.”
The father nodded his head, sadly, and said, “I quite agree.”
The father took his son into the hallway. “Son,” he began. “Now I know you are a good boy and don’t intend to get into trouble. And I don’t want to see you get into trouble. So if you signed that damn piece of paper you just tell the teacher you did.”
