December 7th: Pearl Harbor bombed by the Japanese

Wednesday, December 7th, 2011

On this day in 1941, Pearl Harbor was bombed killing thousands of Army, Navy troops and civilians. The rallying cry “Remember Pearl Harbor” was used to unite the populace into fighting World War II. Among the wreckage was the USS ARIZONA which stands as a monument to those who fought and died in that war. The USS NEVADA, attempting to break out into the Pacific is attacked. Her commander, realizing that the ship will block the only entrance into the harbor if she sinks, intentionally runs her aground clear of the channel.

USS ARIZONA: Death brought immortality

Tuesday, December 6th, 2011

Before Pearl Harbor, USS Arizona’s life included movie role
We take a moment, this December 7, to remember and honor those veterans who fought and died against a tyrannical government and apologize for allowing one to be placed in America by election.

PHOENIX—John Anderson remembers rowing into the burning water around the USS Arizona, searching in vain for a twin brother later found among the battleship’s nearly 1,200 dead in the Pearl Harbor attack. But he also has fond memories of his time on the Arizona, such as attending navigation and meteorology classes with shipmates.

Donald Stratton, who left the Arizona’s flaming wreck with two-thirds of his body burned, remembers boxing matches his fellow sailors held next to a trash incinerator below deck.

Former Intel chief wants to blow up Arizona education

Monday, December 5th, 2011

The former chief executive of Intel wants to essentially blow up everything in public education in Arizona, from how teachers are trained to how they are paid.

And Craig Barrett is getting a platform to do just that with his appointment Monday by Gov. Jan Brewer as chairman of the Arizona Ready Education Council.

In a wide-ranging interview with Capitol Media Services, Barrett said Arizona’s public school children are doing far worse than the national average.

“We’re kind of the bottom 10 or 15 percent of states,” he said.

He said the prime goal of the council will be to get Arizona to adopt core national standards and then, using those as benchmarks, make sure Arizona youngsters improve.

But Barrett, while acknowledging Arizona is “not terribly high” on funding per students compared to other states, rejected the idea that more money is at least part of the answer.

Jennifer Jones arrested in Quartzsite Post Office!

Monday, December 5th, 2011

The Desert Freedom Press Publisher Jennifer Jones was arrested Friday afternoon in the Quartzsite Post Office by Sergeant Xavier Frausto and Police Chief Jeff Gilbert. Jones states that she repeatedly asked them what the charge was, but they refused to tell her. Later, she finally learned that she had been charged with felony witness tampering, over an unsubstantiated allegation made by a woman named Denise Florian.

Florian, who admits to having a drug and alchohol problem moved to Quartzsite over the summer and was almost immediately appointed to the town personnel board to oversee the appeal hearings of the Quartzsite police officers wrongfully terminated over the summer. She was subsequently appointed to the town Health and Development Board which then made recommendations to the council about how much money to give the Senior Center, Museum, and Chamber of Commerce.

What would you cut?

Saturday, December 3rd, 2011

The web site of Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor has a section that is raising eyebrows. The YouCut pages allow you to vote on what program you believe should be cut.

Dead trees litter the forests providing fuel wood for fires.

One of the programs would terminate “environmental literacy” programs run by the Forest Service. These include “Green Schools” which “empowers students to lead the movement of sustainability and environmental responsibility at school, at home and in their community.” This means, of course, indoctrinating kids that wildlife killing windmills will save the polar bears from global warming. The savings of cutting this program would be and estimated $50 million over ten years.

Another cut in this area that might be suggested is cutting the locks that close forest roads so people can cut fuel wood that lays on the ground in the form of dead trees. The Constitution does not allow the federal government to keep citizens of a State out of their forests and off of their roads.

Some are concerned within the forest service that cutting this program might cause Smokey the Bear and Woodsy Owl to get the pink slip. It seems that these two legendary logos will serve to represent America more than ever.

Another program under fire that could save $18 million over ten years is a program that gives bonuses to States to recruit people into the food stamp program. The Department of Agriculture’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (formerly known as the Food Stamp program) pays state governments bonuses for recruiting additional people to sign up for food stamps. Each year, states with the highest percentage of eligible participants enrolled in the program split $12 million in bonus funds. Additionally, the Department awards another $6 million in bonus money to states that are the fastest at signing up new program applicants. As of August, 2011, nearly 46 million Americans were on food stamps, or 15 percent of the population. Benefit costs were over $71 billion between September of 2010 and August of 2011. Program participation has grown steadily since the economic downturn began, and increased by 8 percent in 2011. There is no need to pay states for increasing the number of food stamp recipients they enroll in the program. This could be why Arizona gives food stamps based on race with the lowest rates going to elderly white women who only qualify for about $16 a month after spending their whole life paying the taxes for this program.

Another section of the web site gives you the status on various cutting legislation in Congress.

Big Labor’s Top Ten Special Privileges

Friday, December 2nd, 2011

The Patient’s Affordable Health Care act was pushed hard by the Unions. In fact, they pushed for $1500 in fines for you not having health care instead of the $75 a year mandated by this horrible legislation. Because of their push, you would think that unions would be laying on an operating table or easing back in a dentist chair to enjoy the fruits of their labors.

You might still see that, but it has nothing to do with this so-called health care law. You see, they are exempt from the act, as are Congressmen and their staffs. That is, the union bosses are exempt.

Why would they ensure a provision which allows Obama to exempt them? There is, also, a “Cadillac health care” provision in the plan, as well. What that means is that if you can afford a health care plan that pays all expenses and maybe a stipend for the time you loose from work, you will have to pay the government “taxes” on that plan. Union Bosses are exempt from that.

While researching other things, I found the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation web site. They had a list of other abuses sanctioned by the courts such as the legal ability to commit violence on individuals. They are obviously also exempt from the War on Terror.

The New National Defense Authorization Act Is Ridiculously Scary

Wednesday, November 30th, 2011

Fellow entrepreneurs, Americans, anyone who still cares about this country at all — this is a must read: By the end of this week, the US government very likely will have the power to lock up US citizens for life at Guantanamo Bay or other military prisons — without charge and without trial. This means that, in the near future, a controversial Twitter post, attending a peaceful protest, or publishing an anti-Congress critique or anti-TSA rant on Google+ could land you “indefinite detention” for life, in the wording of the bill. No access to a lawyer, no access to trial.

Yes, you read that right. This would target American citizens, on American soil. Military personnel would be able to come into your house like something out of a Tom Clancy novel and chopper your innocent self down to Guantanamo Bay for life.

Holder “in the dark?”

Wednesday, November 9th, 2011

(November 8th)

Almost unbelievable. Holder actually faces Congress and blames them for Fast and Furious.

“But beyond identifying where errors occurred and ensuring that they never occur again, we must be careful not to loose sight of the critical problem that this flawed investigation has highlighted,” he said in this clip.

Yea, Congress. What’s up with that? It should be illegal for government agencies to order gun dealers to sell guns to the Mexican drug cartel that most Americans can’t afford to buy. It makes the Americans outgunned by a hostile enemy force. Not to mention getting Mexican citizens and border patrol agents killed.

Oh, yea. That is illegal.

It just so happens that Americans buying multiple guns is not the problem. The problem is government agencies running interference for gun sales and non-enforcement at the border. I thought the border was secure, Janet.

Who Pays And Who Gets Paid

Tuesday, November 1st, 2011

November 1, 2011: Since the government launched the Cartel War in late December 2006 around 40,000 people have died in drug cartel-related violence. That is a loss rate of 8,000 a year. Turf wars (also called intra-cartel violence) have been a major source of the deaths, though no one is quite sure what the correct percentage is. This is ultimately a war about money. How much money? Good question. The estimates vary, but the Mexican cartels probably do a $30 to $40 billion a year business in the U.S. The figure is credible. The state of Arizona announced on October 31 that it had arrested 76 people on drug smuggling charges. The accused are suspected of being members of the Sinaloa cartel. Arizona authorities estimated that the individuals arrested had done some two billion dollars’ worth of business in Arizona.

October 27, 2011: Two more suspects were arrested for the August attack on a Monterrey casino, the attack the government called a terror attack. That makes 17 arrests. Prosecutors have said that there are 18 suspects. The attack left 52 people dead. Los Zetas were responsible for the attack. So 17 out of 18 is an impressive figure. Remember this arrest rate when certain media claim Mexico is a failed state, or a North American Pakistan. That media meme is fallacious, but gets a lot of traction because it scares American citizens.

October 25, 2011: Security personnel have occupied a ranch in northern Mexico that Los Zetas used as a training area and safe house. The ranch is in the Las Aguilas area (Nuevo Leon state, Texas border area). Apparently several families in the area fled Mexico and went to the U.S. to escape Los Zetas.

Dr. Pepper 10 still uses aspartame

Friday, October 14th, 2011

Dr. Pepper’s new product is targeted toward men. Their advertisement includes the phrase “no women allowed” for the “10 bold calorie” product.

“In our test markets, Dr Pepper TEN became a go-to drink for men, providing the full-flavor, low-calorie experience they have been looking for,” said [Dave] Fleming. “We’re excited to roll out the product on a national level and give guys across the country a taste of our latest beverage innovation,” according to Packaging Digest.

Fox News Live Online said that the product contains sugar and is designed for taste. Apparently, Diet Dr. Pepper does not taste like regular Dr. Pepper enough. The problem is that the “sugar” included is high fructose corn syrup—which is alleged to have health problems of its own—and it still contains aspartame. It is difficult to find any product, today, that does not use high fructose corn syrup or aspartame instead of pure cane sugar. Even gums not labeled as sugar-free use the offensive chemical.

Recently, Pepsi has release what it calls “throwback” products which claims to use real sugar. Beverage Review, however, reveals that it is not made of pure cane sugar, but a combination of pure cane sugar and beet sugar. There are other alternatives that use pure cane sugar such as Jones and Boylan sodas. And they still use glass bottles.

While the product contains the problematic chemicals, the biggest attack on the product is the advertising targeting men. The product advertising “no women allowed” will probably draw in women who want to prove that they can handle it.

No mayor for Quartzsite?

Friday, September 23rd, 2011

Democracy Costs. Republican form of government free. More woes for Quartzsite.

Not only do you have to pay big bucks to city governments, you gotta pay big bucks to be in city government. If you are unpopular, anyway. Apparently, DEMOCRACY in Arizona means the one with the biggest bucks, not the will of the people. At least in a Republican form of government, when you get elected, you get to take office. The Republican form of government is the one guaranteed by Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution of the United States of America, by the way.

This morning, something happened in the La Paz County Superior Court that few expected. Mayor Elect
Jose’ Lizarraga was determined to be “unqualified” if he failed to obtain and file a bond prior to taking office, as required by Quartzsite Town Code. This was only one of several allegations made against him by third place mayoral candidate Jennifer Jones, who contested Lizarraga’s eligibility for office.

Lizarraga had not filed the required response to the contest of the August 30th mayoral election, and did not show up to court today. Contestant Jones motioned for a default judgment, but Judge Michael Burke stated the law allowed for the hearing to proceed “ex parte”.

Gosar Calls For Audit of The Federal Reserve

Wednesday, August 10th, 2011

Ron Paul Say Americans “Deserve Some Answers”

Jeff Flake is also a co-sponsor–obviously trying to gain TEA party votes after voting for homosexuals in the military. David Schweikert is also a co-sponsor.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Paul Gosar (AZ-01) announced that he is co-sponsoring H.R. 459, the “Audit the Fed” bill primarily sponsored by Congressman Ron Paul. The bill, if enacted into law, would require a thorough audit of Federal Reserve Board operations and make public information that is currently not released.

Congressman Gosar said, “the Federal Reserve Board plays a key role in our current monetary policy. Its operations and decision making should be transparent to the American people, whose lives are impacted by the Fed. I am proud to stand by Ron Paul in his efforts to shed light on this important institution. We cannot make improvements to the system if we do not have all available information about that system.”

Congressman Ron Paul stated, “The Federal Reserve has overseen a 98% drop in the value of the dollar since its inception in 1913. The American people deserve some answers regarding their currency and the activities of the Fed. I am glad that my colleague, Congressman Gosar is standing up for transparency and accountability of the Fed and demanding a full audit.”

The Federal Reserve System was created in 1913 and operates as the central banking system of the United States. It assists with the nation’s monetary policy, supervises and regulates banking institutions, and provides financial services to depository institutions, the U.S. government, and foreign official institutions. Currently, the public does not have the right to inspect or review most Fed activities.
