Governor Jan Brewer will attend an event at Little America on October 15 from 5 to 7 pm. I am informed that this is not a fundraiser. This event is apparently sponsored by the Coconino County GOP and there does not appear to be a cover charge.

The Buzz | Ben Quayle fesses up
Sunday, August 15th, 2010Ben there, done that
Ben Quayle, son of former Vice President Dan Quayle and an Arizona GOP candidate for Congress, has fessed up.
He did post comments on DirtyScottsdale.com, a website devoted to chronicling the trashy side of the Scottsdale nightclub scene. He earlier told Politico that he “was not involved in the site” and did not post under the pseudonym “Brock Landers,” a character from the movie “Boogie Nights.”
Quayle, a self-described conservative and one of 10 seeking the nod for the 3rd District, now says: “I just posted comments to try to drive some traffic.”
Let’s drive some more
Quayle just unveiled a TV campaign ad in which he calls President Barack Obama “the worst president in history” and says he wants to “knock the hell” out of Washington.

Bradley Beauchamp lawsuit
Thursday, August 5th, 2010It seems that, as a congressman, if you do not legislate, you die. You can, therefore, search Thomas.gov and find loads of useless legislation with your congressman’s name attached. Lawyers practice this by litigating in the same fashion. Of course, attaching the name of a candidate doesn’t hurt.
Rumor around the internet is that there is a lawsuit against Bradley Beauchamp running for representative of Arizona’s First Congressional District. The rumor is fueled by a comment by someone using the moniker informedAZvoters. There is only one other reference that I can find on this group which is a blog from 2008 with one article.

What you will get with Democrats and McCain.
Wednesday, August 4th, 2010The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely GOP Primary Voters in the state shows McCain attracting 54% of the vote, while Hayworth earns 34%.
For Hayworth, this represents another decline in support. In April, he picked up 42% of the vote. That fell to 40% in May, 36% in June and 34% in July.
For McCain, the 54% level of support is his highest yet.
“Some other candidate” picks up seven percent (7%) support, and six percent (6%) are undecided.
Some other candidate is likely Jim Deakin whom people are claiming is giving McCain the election. Splitting the ticket. Taking votes from Hayworth.

New Jim Deakin video
Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders and miseries which result gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of public liberty.—George Washington

Dems duke it out!
Wednesday, July 28th, 2010According to the latest Rasmussen Reports poll, 47% of democrats are still having trouble deciding between their four choices of Senator. Rodney Glassman holds a slight lead over Cathy Eden 15% to 11%. Parraz follows with 10% with John Dougherty ending the circus at 7%.
The debate held by PBS last night probably did not help sway their decision. Again, the question of which of them supported the socialist health care plan was carefully avoided which shows what a poison topic it still is for democrats.

Arizona Governor: Brewer (R) 56% Goddard (D) 37%

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer was struggling earlier this year but now holds a commanding lead in the campaign to keep her job.
A new Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey finds Brewer leading Democrat Terry Goddard by a 56% to 37% margin. That’s little changed from a month ago. Just two percent (2%) prefer another candidate while five percent (5%) are undecided.
