At the announcement of the nomination of Richard Cordray for director Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Obama cracked a joke and he was the only one laughing. Republicans plan to filibuster the nomination out of Washington.
Big deal.
A government “Consumer Financial Protection Bureau” does not instill confidence in citizens of States who have watched their money stolen by men without masks to be turned over to banks and foreign governments by the Federal Reserve in the form of TARP. In the middle of the budget showdown, these idiots in Washington are hiring someone for a useless job. What is this Consumer Bureau going to do about the Federal Reserve which has purposely caused our current third world economy? Continue reading “We’re still not laughing, Obama.” »
PHOENIX—People on both sides of the immigration debate in Arizona are skeptical of new research that shows a national decrease in the flow of illegal immigration from Mexico into the United States. But there is one thing they are certain of: undocumented immigrants are steering clear of the border state.
“I think they are just avoiding Arizona,” said Jesse Hernández, a real estate agent who works in the Maryvale neighborhood where the exodus of immigrants, due to the crackdown on illegal immigration and the implosion of the housing market, is especially visible. “They are going to California and other places. No matter how much worse things are in the US, they are still coming over here. It’s a human interest to look for a better opportunity.”
The survey, conducted by Douglas S. Massey, co-director of the Mexican Migration Project at Princeton University, showed that interest in migrating to the United States from Mexico has dropped and the net flow has gone to zero for the first time in 60 years. Apprehensions of Mexicans along the border have also fallen by 70 percent in the last 10 years.
Mark Krikorian, director for the Center of Immigration Studies (CIS), a Washington, D.C.-based conservative think-thank that advocates for less immigration, is also skeptical that the trend of migration could be changing.
These are the bills, thus far, vetoed by Governor Jan Brewer. Governor Brewer currently has over 160 bills on her desk that she has until May 2nd to act upon.
HB 2177 presidential candidates; qualifications; affidavit
Requires a presidential candidate that is for running for office to prove their eligibility to run and hold office by providing documentation that proves citizenship, age and if the candidate meets residency requirements.
Would have required the filing of an affidavit with appropriate proof attached. Brewer objected to “Christian” and “Jewish” materials being part of the proof requirement.
H.B. 2338 special districts; secondary levy limits
Would have put a cap on secondary property tax levels by cities and counties. Now they can charge pretty much what they want. A tax limit on any property tax is not only appropriate, but needed. Continue reading “Arizona vetoes as of today.” »

While Secretary of State Jan Brewer was serving in the position of governer of the Great State of Arizona—wrecked and vacated by Janet Napolitano—she by rote signed legislation after legislation. Particularly the infamous SB 1070 which got her re-elected.
She objects to HB 2177 requiring a presidential candidate to provide documentation that they are, indeed, natural born citizens.
Her objection? “…I never imagined being presented with a bill that could require candidates for President (sic) of the greatest and most powerful nation on earth to submit their ‘early baptismal or circumcision certificates’ among other records to the Arizona Secretary of State. This is a bridge too far.” She objects to documents that the “founding fathers” used quite frequently and were used throughout our history until we became no longer a Christian Nation. Of course, Obama is not Jewish so I doubt he has a circumcision certificate and that is as far as I would check.
ACLU Rep to DOJ Official: “Yes, a real pleasure to be on the same side.”
Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, today announced that it has received documents from the Department of Justice (DOJ) that show DOJ worked hand-in-hand with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) in mounting their respective legal challenges to SB 1070, Arizona’s get-tough illegal immigration law. The documents, obtained by Judicial Watch pursuant to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request filed on June 17, 2010, include email exchanges between DOJ officials and ACLU staff.
Included among the documents obtained by Judicial Watch is a July 27, 2010, email exchange between Lucas Guttentag, leader of the ACLU’s Immigrants’ Rights Project and the DOJ’s Edwin Kneedler, Deputy Solicitor General:
2:15 pm: Ed
I left a voicemail earlier today about checking in once the district court rules. Would you be available then?
[Redacted statement] And from all of us, thank you again for your argument on behalf of the United States.
Lucas
2:40 pm: Thanks Lucas. We should definitely check in once we hear. We’ll be huddling here as soon as we can. What is your thinking at this point on if/how you will proceed in various possible scenarios?
It was good to see you, even if only briefly, and to be on the same side for once! [Redacted statement] I have a feeling we might be seeing each other again on this case.
Ed
6:14 pm: Thanks Ed. Yes, a real pleasure to be on the same side.
I think we will be strongly inclined to seek an immediate emergency injunction from the 9th Circuit…
Can you share your current thinking with regard to the various scenarios?
Best Lucas
Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu pointed out that; “We are three counties deep. How is it that you see pictures (BLM signs) like these? How is that okay?”
Arizona signs confirming that drug and human smuggling activity was taking place well inside the Arizona border have received a face lift and now offer campers and hikers different information when they travel to the Arizona public land regions.
The new sign now reads, “Visitor Information Update- active federal law enforcement patrol area, clean-up and restoration crews at work, contact BLM rangers for current area status.” In smaller print in the lower left-hand side of the sign provides the Bureau of Land Management district office phone number and encourages residents to call 911 for emergency.
The tamer BLM signs sparked speculation as to why Arizona’s Bureau of Land Management decided to make the change. Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio put it in plain and simple language; “They were embarrassed.”
It should be clarified that Arizona does not have a “Bureau of Land Management.” The Bureau of Land Management is a federal government agency and the signs are on what is called federal land. The Obama administration changed the signs.
The public has been told that the illegal immigrants, human/drug smugglers and potential terrorists crossing our southern border are out-of-control. Despite the federal government increasing the number of U.S. Customs/Border Patrol agents the fear generated by violent armed encounters between these agencies and human/drug smugglers has reached a crescendo thanks in part to the FOX NEWS story, “Giving Part of U.S. to Mexico”.
The simple fact is if you cannot control who or what comes across the border then it is out-of-control. Something must be done to curtail the violence caused by our lax border. A solution to a similar violent border problem was put into place by the 1901 formation of the Arizona Rangers.
The AP is reporting that the 9th Circuit Court is not allowing Arizona Governor Jan Brewer to respond to a legal brief filed my Mexico and other Latin American countries. Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Paraguay and Peru joined Mexico’s brief.
Governor Brewer complains that the legal brief from Mexico amounts to international meddling in a dispute between the federal government and the State of Arizona.
This development should make anyone disgusted allowing a foreign power preference over citizens of the United States.
Today I filed my response to the amicus brief that Mexico, with ten other foreign countries, filed in support of the U.S. Justice Department’s lawsuit challenging S.B. 1070.
PINAL COUNTY, Ariz. — Mexican drug cartels have plotted to send assassins into Arizona to murder bandits who are stealing drugs from the cartels, according to a U.S. Department of Homeland Security memo obtained by CBS 5.
Originally we reported that the links to the PDFs at the Liberty Legal Foundation were not working. Dawn Irion emailed us to tell everyone that they are working. For our part, we forgot to title this article. I guess everyone makes misteaks.
The Liberty Legal Foundation was established by Republican Constitutional attorney Van Irion. He is also a former candidate for Congress for the Third District of Tennessee. The Liberty Legal Foundation currently has two major law suits against the Obama Regime. One against the health care and a Motion to Intervene in the case that was filed by the Obama Regime against Arizona due to Senate Bill S.B. 1070.
A 2002 annual report breaking down money doled out by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation reveals the foundation provided a grant to National Council of La Raza. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is arguably the largest “charitable” organization in the world.
Gates gave $6,661,364 to the racist organization for education, according to the foundation’s website. La Raza has also received financial support from the Ford Foundation. For instance, in 1968, the globalist foundation gave La Raza $600,000, according to research conducted by Philip Brennan.
La Raza’s website admits “the organization receives two-thirds of its funding from corporations and foundations, and the rest from the government.” For the period 1992-1996, the total amount of “gifts, grants and contributions” to La Raza was more than $38 million.
With all of the law suits concerning Arizona’s anti-illegal immigration effort, SB-1070, most have forgotten about the law suits concerning the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare. Many are unaware of the injunction and class action law suit filed by Tennessee attorney and Congressional Candidate Van Irion that you can still join. Mr. Irion apparently found it unsatisfactory that the Tennessee Attorney General would not join the law suits by the States, so he started one for private citizens.
PHOENIX—A federal judge dealt a serious rebuke to Arizona’s immigration law on Wednesday when she put most of the crackdown on hold just hours before it was to take effect.
The ruling by U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton sets up a lengthy legal battle as Arizona fights to enact the nation’s toughest-in-the-nation immigration law. Republican Gov. Jan Brewer said the state likely appeal the ruling and seek to get the judge’s order overturned.
But for now, opponents of the law have prevailed: The provisions that angered opponents will not take effect, including sections that required officers to check a person’s immigration status while enforcing other laws.
The judge also delayed parts of the law that required immigrants to carry their papers at all times, and made it illegal for undocumented workers to solicit employment in public places — a move aimed at day laborers. In addition, the judge blocked officers from making warrantless arrests of suspected illegal immigrants.
“Requiring Arizona law enforcement officials and agencies to determine the immigration status of every person who is arrested burdens lawfully-present aliens because their liberty will be restricted while their status is checked,” Bolton, a Clinton appointee, said in her decision.
